Are there any "maintained" proxy scanners? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2014-10-21 16:58 It's been a very long time since I ran an IRC server, but we were looking into running one at work (small ISP). All the proxy scanners I remember using some time ago seem to be dead. BOPM used to worked very well, but it doesn't look like it has had any update since 2006 or so. I don't think it even supports IPv6? All the others seem to be just as dead. What are you guys using? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RichardG867 · 2014-10-21 17:23 InspIRCd has a proxy scanner module AFAIK. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hyp3rdriv3 · 2014-10-21 17:54 Charybdis has one built in. It uses RBL's though instead of an actual port scanner. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- crypt0dax · 2014-10-22 13:55 I have been using InspIRCd for a few months now and it has been excellent. There is a proxy scanner similar to what BOPM used but I haven't used it so I can't really comment much about it. Check it out. :) https://github.com/inspircd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- intahnetmonster · 2014-10-23 11:53 I used to use InspIRCd years ago and liked it, but we are using Ratbox at work. I'd prefer not to change IRCd to be honest. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- XavierNite · 2014-11-12 13:38 Use a proper IRCd with built in DNS black list checks. Some examples include Charybdis, InspIRCd, and Nefarious. You will not require BOPM that way, however if you would still like to manually scan for certain open ports (1080, 9050, etc) then you could use BOPM in addition.
