Sorry. It's just a necessary part of running an IRC network. You're free to use secure proxies and BNCs if you wish to hide your IP -- Although the network does have hostmasking enabled.* ---------------------------------------------------------------------- KindOne · 2014-10-18 03:11 What makes this network any different than the 600+ that already exist? http://irc.netsplit.de/networks/ Also in my opinion, mibbit is horrid, qwebirc or iris (fork/branch of qwebirc) is better. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2014-10-18 09:10 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jbroome · 2014-10-18 11:58 I read this as DTFChat, which is probably the opposite of the chant environment you're hoping to create. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Not__A_Terrorist · 2014-10-18 14:18 "Down To Fuck" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- crypt0dax · 2014-10-22 14:13 cool. will check it out sometime. "It's just a necessary part of running an IRC network" - well that's not entirely true. In my experience I think it is best to let channel bots take care of that sort of thing. If OPs in a channel want to block TOR/proxies then let them write/download and connect up a bot. Some IRC users have legitimate reasons why they need to use an open proxy/tor to connect. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- joshuacasey · 2014-10-23 16:46 If people have a legitimate reason for using a proxy they can use a BNC (there's PLENTY of free BNC providers...or it's easy and cheap enough to get a server to run your own BNC) or a closed proxy. "Open" proxies are insecure and easily abused.
