mIRC Scripting - ON QUIT Message check reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FalconSpy · 2014-08-15 15:18 Hey guys, sorry if this was already posted. I was looking to find out if it's possible to check what channel the quit message came from? I know I can do ON *:QUIT:{ msg $me $nick quit IRC with $1- } to get the nick and their quit message. Is there a way to specify / monitor a single channel in particular? I've tried using the ischan / ison but no dice. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- KindOne · 2014-08-15 22:42 Might want to ask on irc.swiftirc.net #msl (mIRC Scripting Language) or #mircscripting. They can be more helpful. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arcalion · 2014-08-16 06:16 I'm a bit rusty, but I think the answer is "not easily". Since "on quit" triggers when they quit and they share ANY channel with you, it wouldn't support telling you which channel, because what if there's more than one? ischan and ison wouldn't work because at the moment they quit, they're not on/in anywhere. The raw format of a quit notice from the server to the client doesn't include channels. You could theoretically have a script that populated a variable with a list of every person in every channel, and every time someone left, or quit, it removed them from each channel's variable...and if they quit, you could look to see if they were on that list before pulling them off...then you could notify yourself based on that, which channels they were in. That's wasteful/expensive programming though to accomplish something that could be accomplished more easily by, say, looking at the channel window for the QUIT message? :P Or if you were wanting something after the fact, just search through your log of the channel in question.
