Need some help to get started on a script reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Swagnite · 2014-08-06 21:15 So I want to make a mIRC script that can store "friend codes" for a gaming channel. I've seen a script like this in another channel that I would like to recreate. It worked like this: !addfc username 0000-0000-0000 name (ops only) Then when you would do !fc username it would output like this: username | 0000-0000-0000 | name It could also edit the codes with !editfc (again ops only). Hopefully I'm not being too confusing. I don't have much experience with scripting but I can't imagine this is too difficult with writing and reading .ini files. I just need an idea how to do it. Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- KindOne · 2014-08-06 23:20 Too lazy to fully write the script, but this crude example code should point you into the right direction, assuming I fully understood what you want. on *:text:*:#channel:{ ; Only allow op's to do !addfc if ($1 == !addfc) && ($nick isop $chan) { do_stuff } ; Only allow op's to do !editfc else if ($1 == !editfc) && ($nick isop $chan) { do_stuff } ; Anyone else in the channel can do !fc else if ($1 == !fc) { do_stuff } } http://en.wikichip.org/wiki/Operators_-_mIRC You will want to use /writeini if you plan on using .ini files. http://en.wikichip.org/wiki//writeini_command_-_mIRC And some $readini, but that page does not exist on that wiki yet. You can check the /help file that comes with mIRC. One of the most active mIRC channels that can help/point you in the right directions is at irc.swiftirc.net #mircscripting
