Having strange problem connecting to reddit on freenode reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BanquetForOne · 2014-06-28 11:22 i recently updated mIRC and for some reason now it will not load #reddit on launch it was saying /msg NickServ Identify but i used the perform to put that in i have also got the password in the edit > server and on the #reddit favourite. Freenode connects on launch and the perform thing seams to identify me but #reddit does not load I don't know what else to do iv'e tried everything this was perfectly fine a few weeks ago. I use this script for connecting to servers automaticaly as there is no place in MIRC to set up auto join for some strange reason on *:START:{ server irc.freenode.com } 2014 it should work with this much user input imo All i want to do is launch Mirc and jon the reddit room why is this so awkward a process? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- --------- End of /MOTD command. - * ******* sets mode: +i - -NickServ- This nickname is registered. Please choose a different nickname, or identify via /msg NickServ identify . - -> *NickServ* IDENTIFY ******* - Local host: ********************* - Cannot join channel (+r) - you need to be identified with services - -NickServ- You are now identified for *******. - unaffiliated/******* is now your hidden host (set by services.) -------------- I gave up and installed hexChat sorry mIRC ---------------------------------------------------------------------- KindOne · 2014-06-28 11:45 You are trying to join before you are identified to servers. Either add a delay / script that will join when you are cloaked / or do sasl. SASL is by far the best way in my opinion. tl;dr with sasl you basically identify to nickserv before you are even connected, so you dont get that +r issue. https://freenode.net/sasl/sasl-mirc.shtml ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BanquetForOne · 2014-06-28 11:52 ok i gave up and installed hexchat and im in no problems and i hardly even set anything up.
