A non-freemium, non-profitable service in support of Free Open Source Software (FOSS) reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2014-04-07 11:00 What differences does this make to any of the other BNC providers, such as PanicBNC, bnc.im, IRCCloud (not really a ZNC but I'll stick it here), EliteBNC, BNC4FREE, etc. Your website does look nicely made, though. I thought you were creating a custom IRC client kinda of like IRCCloud, but it's just another ZNC setup... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sprybear · 2014-04-07 15:58 Hi, TheOnlyTechman, I'll try to put this in the best way possible. Firrre (ProjectFirrre) is mainly a free bouncer service in support of Free Open Source Software (FOSS) for developers and enthusiast to connect to either Freenode IRC and/or OFTC where users are not obligated to donate cash, no partyline channels, users are not forced to join the IRC channel even. There are probably a dozen free bouncer providers all with their own methods and ways of execution, which we respect and not criticize. The difference is that we only allow connections to FOSS-driven IRC Networks, in which Freenode and OFTC falls into this category. We try our level best to be professional, no OP power abuse, no admin- is-superior, fair-and-square and zero tolerance for nonsense. We mainly utilize SSD's and IPV6 server-side and backed by a few solid companies as our sponsors. We have also pledged to contribute to design and release responsive, mobile-friendly ZNC webadmin themes/skins to the general public; open source. As of February, we have released zncstrap — a free Twitter Bootstrap theme for ZNC (other non-Twitter-Bootstrap themes is in the making). We also have a transparency policy where users are aware of full disclosure of matters in relations to our service. And yes, we proudly make use of a stable version of ZNC — an advanced IRC bouncer software, server-wide. Thank you. Regards, sprybear
