Is there an Android IRC Bouncer? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- freaktechnik · 2014-03-17 23:22 Hello I've searched and asked everywhere if there is an IRC Bouncer running on Android. I have a spare Android Phone which I currently use as UPnP server and would like to add an IRC Bouncer. If there is any bouncer runnable on Android I'd appreciate hearing about it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rickibalboa · 2014-03-18 21:51 Why is this being voted down? Fairly genuine question, people should consider answering it if they have a problem with it.. I wouldn't run a bouncer on your phone as the internet connection isn't stable, maybe you're looking for a bouncer elsewhere and an android irc client that can connect to it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- freaktechnik · 2014-03-18 21:57 Maybe I wasn't clear enough in the post, but I use this phone stationary, without SIM card. It is always connected to the internet via the stable home broadband connection. It's not worth it to buy hardware like a raspberry pi, if I already have equally powerful hardware. I am looking into cross-compiling znc atm, but the whole NDK thing is pretty new to me atm. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rickibalboa · 2014-03-18 22:00 Oh yeah well your best bet is continuing with what you are looking into. Can't imagine anyone has designed a BNC for an android device. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- knuxgen · 2014-03-27 13:38 Wouldn'd having the Pi with Irssi running and Android Irssi ConnectBot solve what you need? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- freaktechnik · 2014-03-27 21:16 _If_ I had a Pi. >It's not worth it to buy hardware like a raspberry pi, if I already have equally powerful hardware. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sauerkrause · 2014-04-02 04:44 Debian chroot on android device could work if rooted. That would get you any number of bouncers. My favorite being znc or "shoes off" for emacs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- flotwig · 2014-04-16 03:23 You could compile `znc` on there without too much trouble, maybe.
