Learning IRC for the first time, this happens when I try to connect to the Reddit server. I have no idea what I'm doing. reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BipolarBear0 · 2014-02-12 06:05 The issue is that you're appending /reddit to the server name. In the server slot, you'd just put irc.snoonet.org - no /reddit at the end. If you want to connect to the #reddit channel on snoonet IRC, then once you log on you can type /join #reddit. Of course, we also have a bunch of other great channels as well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2014-02-12 06:05 The /reddit part should not be part of the hostname. For some reason your client included the channel as part of the server's URL when it should not. Try irc.snoonet.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2014-02-12 06:06 /u/sailingonward, I think you need to take "/reddit" out of the server name. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2014-02-12 06:24 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sailingonward · 2014-02-12 06:24 Thanks everyone, I'll remove the /reddit ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BipolarBear0 · 2014-02-12 06:26 How did you like the Friendly Brigade? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sailingonward · 2014-02-12 06:40 I am overwhelmed by the friendly ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2014-02-12 06:58 We like you.
