im not new to IRC, its been so long.
I want to chat on freenode but I'm afraid my ip will be available for
the rest of the world to see it. Is this network "we-dont-display-
your-ip" friendly?

I'm talking about freenode, looks like its the most popular IRC
network here on reddit.

Yeah.  Just register with NickServ then go to #freenode and ask for an
unaffiliated cloak.  You may be asked to wait a week, but that was a
somewhat common thing a couple years ago and I think it may have
changed since then.

running any publicly available & exploitable services.
