Free irccloud.com alternative? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lpiob · 2013-12-12 07:41 Or a software with similar interface and features, that I can use? edit: interface: http://i.imgur.com/zCgOubN.png features: basically a web bouncer, with possibility to attach from multiple clients. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- M2Ys4U · 2013-12-12 08:50 There's [Kiwi IRC](https://kiwiirc.com). It's free to use (it's also free software) and it's the client that Snoonet uses for its webchat. It doesn't have persistent connections (i.e. bouncer mode) yet, but that's currently under development and there should be news about that shortly. (Full disclosure: I'm one of the Kiwi devs, come say hi to us on [#kiwiirc on Freenode](https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.org:+6697/kiwiirc)) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lpiob · 2013-12-12 10:46 Looks really interesting, thanks for the heads-up, I will track that project for sure. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tokesbury · 2013-12-12 14:31 I don't think you're going to find something exactly like irccloud. You'll either find web clients or bouncers. Mibbit, qwebirc are nice web clients, but they lack certain features like bouncing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- oh_no_cat · 2013-12-13 19:57 I really like ircloud.com but damn $5 a month for such a simple thing is too much imo. I think something like $30 for a year seems decent and I would pay it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2013-12-13 22:24 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Karunamon · 2013-12-15 16:02 Yeah this is pretty much what I'm looking for too. I like the idea of a web bouncer, but that small convenience is not worth $60 a year for me. That, and it's all closed source and hosted on someone else's server. ick. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- meebey · 2013-12-22 18:17 If you have a root server or VPS with root rights you can install your own IRCcloud with Smuxi, see https://www.smuxi.org/ (look for smuxi- server). The only drawback compared to IRCcloud is that Smuxi only supports native frontends currently for Windows, Linux (graphical and text interface) and Mac OS X. A web based frontend is planned though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcusramberg · 2014-01-06 20:08 Convos does exactly this - http://convos.by/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hiught · 2014-03-15 08:27 IRCAnywhere is an application written in javascript which is designed to be a free alternative to IRCCloud. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ibeka · 2014-04-28 04:54 Hi, You can try my opensource project, IRCBoks: https://github.com/iwanbk/ircboks. It is still in early stage but quite stable (with freenode) for weeks. It also support access from multiple browser. Android app is planned but not in high priority.
