Problem with Nettalk 6.7.16

When joining a room with 2k users or more, the program keeps locking
up every 10 seconds or so to refresh the user list for 1 or 2 seconds
and then resumes back to normal. Is there a way to fix this, or even
hide the username list? I have a decent computer, so I'm positive its
not my hardware.

Thanks in advance
