OP Tutorial reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wmcscrooge · 2013-11-12 07:20 Usually I kinda find some pretty good thread/post tutorials, but I'm lost this time. Does anyone know any good lengthy posts/threads on how to OP a channel? commands/tips/tricks/bots and the like? I know I can find some sites outside of reddit (and I will), I just think that reddit might have a really good one I'm missing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zarthus-sfw · 2013-11-12 12:54 It's difficult to tutorial something that varies. I'm on my phone so I'll keep it short. But it heavily varies on which channel you moderate. Some channels offer bans on first offense and others ban rarely with an ban expiration date. Mostly it is just a feeling of a personal judgment. The founder saw something in you and is confident you will make the calls to the best of your capabilities. All in all, just follow and enforce the channel guidelines, ask or observe fellow ops and have a good time. There aren't many ways to go wrong. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MillenniumFalc0n · 2013-11-12 16:20 http://www.irchelp.org/irchelp/changuide.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wmcscrooge · 2013-11-12 23:34 I'd have preferred a reddit post (to get to know some personal stories/tricks), but this is still great. Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Katana__ · 2013-11-13 01:55 Oftentimes, your gut will tell you how to act. Listen to it. Just be able to back up your decisions with logic and reason and you'll be fine.
