What channels can I find spectacularly cool IRC channel bots being used? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thehodapp · 2013-11-05 01:06 I'm intrigued by bots lately and was wondering if there were any that had particularly good abilities to parse human text and do interesting things with it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tavaryn · 2013-11-05 02:31 Run one yourself! There are plenty of [Markov chain bots](https://github.com/spion/triplie-ng) that learn input from wherever and spit it out, attempting to mimic human conversation. For fun, stick one in #4chan on Rizon and let it soak up the ambiance there for a while. Just google "markov chain irc bot" if you're looking for one for a particular scripting language or OS. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wmcscrooge · 2013-11-05 06:06 Bucket from the xkcd channel also cracked me up. Looking up some logs from them are hilarious. There's some good tricks coded in him that aren't necessarily complicated, but are very interesting when you take into context the amount of people interacting with him and the nature of people vs. human-like bots. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aberacadaberaa · 2013-11-14 21:17 We have a bot that is a pretty good conversationalist, it's name is Bashful on the DALnet network in the channel #20s , he's the smartest chatbot I've ever seen, and i've seen myriads of extremely dumb ones, but I am amazed by some of the responses he gives. You can pm him if you don't want to interupt a current conversation. /server irc.dal.net /join #20s and the username is bashful
