Problems connecting to DALnet from Iphone 4s using colloquy since the
ios 7 update?

Starting a week ago my connections started getting worse and worse
until yesterday I cant connect to Dalnet via mobile at all. I can
connect via wifi from my home just fine, but during the day I dont
have access to my wifi. Could anyone explain what the issue is or if
theres a possible fix? Thanks in advance!

A few smaller ones. Ive heard it had something to do with Verizon
using a certain IP that Dalnet isnt fond of, but I'm not exactly a
Master at Irc and was wondering what others thought.

I don't use dalnet and am not familiar with it. But with other IRC
networks, I would probably go into #help and see if they have a
specific server/port that would be better for me to connect to.

You might have luck just connecting to an individual [one of these
servers](http://www.dal.net/servers/), but I don't know enough to say
for sure.

Ive tried most of the servers on that page with several ports each. Im
convinced it has to do with the update at this point. Thanks though!

The colloquy software I do not think would have a bug that would
prevent you from connecting to a specific network. It is much more
likely that the dal net servers have klined the ip pool you are
connecting from, just ask in #help on dalnet.

You could try palaver app which I personally like a bit better than
colloquy.

If you did so from an IP address - say, wifi - that was not klined.

I did some digging, and apparently Verizon blocks access to irc ports.
I guess my time came. Im gonna try and set up an old computer and a
bouncer. Thats what #help advised. Anybody know if the blocked access
is a roaming kind of thing or permanent?
