I know how to use IRC, I used mIRC 5 years ago.

* Where can I get info on XDCC?
* What IRC Servers have a good selection of people with files?
* What security precautions should I take?

Thanks!

http://xdcc.me/ can show you where the files are. Just go to one of
the channels they list and look around for information on how to use
their bots in the MOTD, server window, or by watching other users.
Sometimes the search site will direct you to one channel that tells
you to also join a second channel before you give the DL command.
