Any persistent web-based IRC services? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rotemy · 2013-08-01 15:03 I was wondering whether or not there exists a decent web-based IRC service that would alleviate the need for sophisticated setups of bouncers and notification scripts. A quick search through google doesn't turn up anything like that (except for one https://www.irccloud.com/, which is in closed beta). Do any of you use something like that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2013-08-01 20:29 Message me your email and I can send you an invite to IRCCloud if you would like. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FiXato · 2013-08-02 21:16 _ IRCCloud **still** is in closed beta? o_O _ I guess one of the reasons why IRCCloud is one of the few / only of such services around, is that most IRC networks aren't fond of forms of open proxy services where [WebIRC protocol](https://kiwiirc.com/docs/webirc) wouldn't work because the originating IPs would change frequently. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2013-08-03 16:51 That's why IRCCloud has [this page](https://www.irccloud.com/networks). You are meant to ban the user's IRCCloud UID, which actually is harder to bypass given they can't change it.
