What are some good chat channels/servers reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2013-04-20 03:24 . ---------------------------------------------------------------------- frumious · 2013-04-20 12:59 Such mythical beasts are not paraded lest they be slain. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- farded · 2013-04-20 13:53 You may need to lead the conversation a bit if you want chat that is more for you. Just remember to ignore or disregard immature people or that's who you'll end up talking to. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mister_Bubbles · 2013-04-20 15:50 I think you need to be a bit more specific - do you want just a general chat channel, or something for a specific topic? For example: #elderscrolls on irc.chatspike.net is more focused on topics for Bethesda's Elder Scrolls gaming series (as well as general topics) #ChatSpike on the other hand on the same network is more general chatter and for any sort of discussion. --- It really depends on what you want. Just 'calm and active' really isn't enough detail to give you something good. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LostInInaka · 2013-04-20 15:50 Might be your chance to create such a channel... I call ops! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To0nMaN · 2013-04-20 20:36 I spend a great deal of time on Rizon but the channels i frequent are private. Some of the torrent trackers, if you are involved with any private torrent trackers, also have some decent chat. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2013-04-21 03:47 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- IRCd · 2013-04-21 10:22 I second this. Many a time have I joined channels set up on a temporary basis that ended up forming small communities. Create a channel on EFnet or another decent network and let's see who turns up! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FiXato · 2013-04-29 13:58 How active should it be? Do you mean people should be talking at all times, or that people will join in on a conversation when you or someone else starts talking about something interesting? Also, what kind of topics interest you? Instead of joining a generic channel, you might also want to join a couple of channels about topics that might interest you. If you are looking for lucid dream, demoscene, music-tracking, or programming related channels, I might have some pointers. :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2013-04-29 16:29 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FiXato · 2013-04-29 16:31 You might want to check out the IRC chat connected to www.ld4all.com then if the subject sounds interesting. :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2013-05-02 02:34 What are good channels for English and grammar learning ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- shadowh511 · 2013-05-02 05:33 There's some good channels on Ponychat, #geek is a great place ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2013-05-03 10:25 [deleted]
