IRC clients for Android? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SmilinBob82 · 2013-01-13 11:59 I was wondering if anyone could recommend an IRC client for Android. I have tried AndroIRC before and wasn't too thrilled with it. Anyone know any better(preferably free) clients? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kyleyankan · 2013-01-13 12:05 I use Andchat and love it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thev00d00 · 2013-01-13 12:44 While not technically a client I use Quasseldroid/Quassel. Persistent connection with a nice cross platform desktop client without messing with irssi in a screen session. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- faghat · 2013-01-13 14:53 Yup, I haven't used it myself but I've been hearing good things about it. should certainly be tried out, at least. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kyleyankan · 2013-01-13 14:57 I use it with ZNC I run on my Linode. I also leave a screen+irssi session always connected. Never had a problem ---------------------------------------------------------------------- knuxgen · 2013-01-13 21:59 AndChat, AndroIRC, the same question is the third link on this subreddit's frontpage. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ecnahc515 · 2013-01-13 22:14 Same set up. Except tmux instead of screen, and weechat instead of irssi. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2013-01-13 22:47 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tm258 · 2013-01-13 22:51 Was going to say this too. I don't use Quasseldroid very often, but I love Quassel on the desktop, and Quasseldroid is a great supplement. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kyleyankan · 2013-01-14 01:13 Just curious, whats the advantage of tmux? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ecnahc515 · 2013-01-14 01:17 Its more modern, and actively updated/maintained. There seems to be a large feature pallet with tmux. All in all its probably not a big difference, but I'm very happy with tmux. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kyleyankan · 2013-01-14 01:28 Thanks, I'll check it out. my only issue with screen is sometimes the windows re-sizing gets a bit wonked ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Cial · 2013-01-17 08:41 Andchat works rather well. The only problem is that I can't copy text in it, pasting wors fine though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- urbels · 2013-02-14 11:19 Yaaic is nice, but i use Androidirc
