What are good networks and channels for discussing Philosophy,
Religion and Politics?

I have been on freenode but it is really focused on open source
projects and communities.  I am looking to branch out and start
chatting on other networks.  Are there any networks and channels that
may be active and discuss the topics listed above?  As a side note,
you can feel free to recommend other channels and networks as long as
they are active and not forever idling.

EFNet's #philosophy is pretty good, but you have to actually start a
philosophical conversation. Mostly it's backbiting and drama, but when
it's not, the conversations can be quite stimulating.

There's #reddit-atheism and #talkatheist on Freenode, and #debate on
the Chatspike network. That last one is pretty much for discussing
anything, but most of the time it's politics or religion, it seems. On
Sunday evenings there's an invitation for people from various
religious debate subreddits to gather there and talk.
