dronebl banned me from irc - how do i get back on snoonet? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SamuelHusky · 2012-08-27 18:25 Check with dronebl as to why your IP is listed and request removal after following their instructions. Not sure how it is implemented with snoonet but if it issued a K line then either wait for it to expire or connect to a different node on the network. If you have been issued a G line then you will need to contact an IRCOp to have this removed or hope that it has an expiry time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- faghat · 2012-08-28 00:30 Firstly I'd try resetting your router on the off chance that you just happened to get a new IP that was banned. If that doesn't work then follow these instructions: First you need to go to http://dronebl.org/lookup?ip=YourIPHere and then click the "request removal" button. You should also find out why you were banned so you can help prevent you from being banned again. Once you're removed from the blacklist then try joining snoonet again. It will depend on snoonet's rules (which I can't seem to find..) if they issued their own K/G/Z/whatever:line that will prevent you from joining snoonet again. The ban message should show you how to get the ban removed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FlyinEye · 2012-09-05 09:28 get/use a shell account ---------------------------------------------------------------------- funknut · 2012-09-22 17:53 I have seen entire Comcast subnets banned on Dronebl. Snoonet needs to be a little less strict with their blacklist usage. Simply being listed in Dronebl does *not mean you're a spammer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- faghat · 2012-09-22 18:13 Does not*? And yes, you're right, but I'm assuming he was on the blacklist for the "right" reasons (as that's probably what happened) and I told him what to do to get off the list, regardless of if he is an actual spammer etc, or not. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- funknut · 2012-09-22 18:40 Yes, thanks for that correction. How common is it to end up on DroneBL for being an IRC spammer? I assumed it was all open proxies and known compromised machines. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- faghat · 2012-09-22 19:21 No idea honestly, I don't assume that often. I'm fairly sure the worst that would happen is a gline from the network.
