Need help On IRC with Quakenet

The company i work for uses IRC to communicate with our clients.. but
for about 2 months we stopped using irc. Recently we decided to start
using irc again, but someone already registered for op  in the channel
we use. They have @Q bot and @ next to their names. We are fairly noob
in using irc..we never registered the channel in the past because it
was never really popular. The Channel is under our companies name.

So now I'm wondering what can we do to obtain back the power in the
channel? Thank you.

if its not possible i would just have to beg the guy to forfeit his
power in our channel and give it back to us

By the sounds of it it's his channel, not yours. Register a different
channel and direct your clients there.

Nothing you can do about that. He owns the chan from the sounds of it
now. you will have to register a different channel, or use a differnt
irc network.

The Q will leave if no-one on the chanlev joins for quite some time
(around 40 days). Otherwise, as the others say your options are ask
politely for the channel owner to give you the channel or to use
another channel.

The channel must have dropped (unregistered) due to inactivity. This
leaves you with a few options:

* Ask the new channel founder for the channel back

* Make a new channel with a different name

* Register a new channel on another IRC server

Use a different channel, it's theirs now.
