Any channels on Quakenet? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- relict · 2012-08-08 13:40 Hey guys. So, I haven't been on quakenet in years, and I went back the other day and noticed all my old channels are pretty much filled with idlers. Can anyone reccommend some decent channels that have decent conversation? Not just a bunch of idlers. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2012-08-08 14:07 The channels I'm in that're active are the ones named after countries, games, sports, activities, etc... If you go for something along those lines you're bound to find one with some activity in it. /me carefully avoids namedropping channels ---------------------------------------------------------------------- meeb · 2012-08-08 15:01 Try our lovely live channel search at: http://www.quakenet.org/search Or watch out for our events: http://www.quakenet.org/events Any current game typically has a channel named after it as well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tacticalbread · 2012-08-08 17:20 **I**dle **R**arely **C**hatting. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Paradox · 2012-08-09 00:03 In my experience, no one really uses QuakeNet anymore, due to shitty services, large amounts of netsplits, and similar. Sure, they may be the "*biggest*", but that has nothing to do with activity. It used to be awesome, but those days have passed, :( ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TehZomB · 2012-08-09 02:56 It's really a gaming network now (as far as public channels go). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Nicd · 2012-08-09 06:02 In my experience most people use QuakeNet and it has awesome services. Funny how opinions differ. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Paradox · 2012-08-09 06:44 I personally hate Q, S, and all the other crap they do. Why can't they just use ChanServ/NickServ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Nicd · 2012-08-09 09:48 Why should they? I've found Q and S pretty usable and they serve all my channel admining needs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DemanRisu · 2012-08-09 10:36 Is there a rule against that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2012-08-09 11:33 Not that I know of, I just don't like to do it because it's a bit classless to advertise channels you frequent, in my opinion. Also, meeb might kick me in the dick. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2012-08-09 11:37 They differ when one person confuses their opinion with 'experience' and the other one doesn't. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- relict · 2012-08-09 14:28 How about sending me a message with said channels? haha. I promise, i'm good.
