Are there any IRC games that you enjoy playing? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SamuelHusky · 2012-07-23 14:47 I run a network at irc.huskynet.info and it's original purpose was a testbed for me to write IRC based scripts. Since then I decided to open it up publicly and run some IRC games for a few friends. Currently we run Uno (#Uno), IdleRPG (#IdleRPG) and Blackjack (#Blackjack) and was wondering if anybody had any games that they enjoyed playing. The main trouble I seem to find is that most IRC game scripts that I come across are mIRC scripts. I don't really want to run another box at home specifically with Windows just to run some mIRC bots so would prefer it if they were written in a language that could be run on a Linux machine such as Python or Perl. EDIT: Added trivia using TrivialBot (After some modifications) #Trivia if you are interested. **TL;DR Looking for IRC game scripts. Preferably Python, Perl or something else I can run on a Linux box.** ---------------------------------------------------------------------- edman007 · 2012-07-23 15:23 Werewolf is good, there are plenty of bots that will do it, just Google it and pick one. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SamuelHusky · 2012-07-23 15:37 I had considered werewolf. Need to expand on the user base a bit first though. Don't think I have enough real people about all of the time to have a game. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- red40 · 2012-07-23 16:22 idlerpg ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ComradePyro · 2012-07-23 16:35 is named in the op ---------------------------------------------------------------------- resuni · 2012-07-23 19:05 That's a classic irc game. I remember spending hours on it when I first joined Freenode. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- battmutler · 2012-07-23 20:21 Gotta have trivia. A lot of trivia bots are mIRC, but I know of at least one that's in Java. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SamuelHusky · 2012-07-23 21:12 If you could find it I would greatly appreciate it. Would love to have a trivia channel ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SamuelHusky · 2012-07-23 21:12 It's on my list for when the user base increases. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- battmutler · 2012-07-23 21:57 These two look like they're worth a gander: [TrivialBot](http://code.google.com/p/trivialbot/) [Eggdrop](http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/natty/man1/eggdrop.1.htm l) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anthaneezy · 2012-07-23 22:56 I like the IRC game were we all pretend we're busy at work/life but we idle on IRC all day ---------------------------------------------------------------------- austindkelly · 2012-07-24 00:09 IDLERPG ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jsimpson82 · 2012-07-24 00:25 Werewolf. There's a popular one on ##wolfbot on freenode. There's another game I've built called scrabby, which spits out 12 letters, and players compete to make the most valuable words out of them. It's fun, but people get very frustrated if they are unequally matched. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jsimpson82 · 2012-07-24 00:26 Did I know you there? JonathanD. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- resuni · 2012-07-24 01:09 The name JonathanD sounds very familiar. I went by Bradj47 at the time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SamuelHusky · 2012-07-24 07:43 Is the source available for Scrabby? :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- m1ss1ontomars2k4 · 2012-07-24 09:15 I think there's one in Tcl as well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jsimpson82 · 2012-07-24 19:04 Maybe. It's one of the first things I ever wrote.... The source might not be that useful though, as it's in a proprietary language. Powerbasic. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2012-07-24 20:33 It's actually on #wolfgame. I'm the current developer of the bot there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rooster10 · 2012-08-03 05:13 Then you may like [this](http://www.epicmafia.com/home). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CumCanThrowaway · 2012-08-08 07:21 Poker is good
