Is there a way to make it that a channel I created doesn't appear when
someone in it is /whois'd?

Set mode +s (secret).

Set (channel) mode +p (private) too.

If your **usermode** is +i, the channel won't show up unless they are
in the channel as well.

Depending on the ircd, chmodes +s or +p should do the trick, as well
as umodes +p or +i.

may I add, setting +s on the channel also keeps it from showing up in
/list
