EPIC5-1.1.3 (*nix Console IRC Client) Released reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- givello · 2012-05-17 10:11 Is it very different from irssi? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tjharman · 2012-05-18 05:04 It is, in that it's almost a "framework" client. It has extremely powerful scripting (using it's own scripting language) built into it, but because of that it doesn't come with any scripts (how do you choose which one of many to make the default?) so if you run it by itself, you'll be very confused. There's a list of scripts here: http://scripts.epicsol.org NB: I keep LiCe updated, so that's what I'd recommend you try, but amnesiac and darkstar are also great scripts. Comparatively irissi is also very powerful and flexible, and it's a lot more user friendly out of the box. I'm a big epic fan because I've been using it (or, at least ircII and then epic) for the last 15 years. If you're already comfortable with irsii, I probably wouldn't move (though I'd love it if you gave epic a go!) Tim
