looking for quassel-like multiprotocol IM reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- anystupidassname · 2012-03-30 08:00 Is there an instant messenger subreddit? Integrating libpurple / pidgin into quassel is a feature request but likely won't be completed for years. Can anybody give me a better idea than running finch in a screen/tmux session? Is there another project out there I'm not aware of? (quassel-irc.org) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2012-03-30 10:12 Tried bitlbee (i'm on my phone, google it)? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- anystupidassname · 2012-03-30 12:40 Wow, cool. Thanks, that will do the trick! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Paradox · 2012-03-30 23:22 You can run bitlbee into irc, although its not exactly the smoothest way of doing things. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- evaryont · 2012-03-31 03:32 If you like libpurple support, there is also [minbif](http://minbif.im). There is also an irssi plugin that enables webcam support! Yes. Webcam in irssi, a text-only client. Not very high resolution, mind you, but decent enough I could tell a smile from a frown. :-P ---------------------------------------------------------------------- anystupidassname · 2012-04-05 07:54 This looks sweet. Think I'll stick with this because of the additional features. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- guruz · 2012-04-12 15:34 We have something planned at http://woboq.im/ but not much progress was made so far. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- anystupidassname · 2012-04-12 18:31 Thanks, I'll have a gander. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- galaris · 2012-04-21 15:18 I dont know if this is the kind of program you are looking for, I'm using **Trillian** for a while now, and it's pretty good. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2012-04-24 08:00 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tmp90849 · 2012-08-17 23:27 OT, but it's the first time I've heard about a "distributed IRC client". If I understood correcly, Quassel seems to be better discribed by as a Client-Server IRC client. Why the 'distributed' keyword?
