How to hide a message containing a pre-defined word (with mIRC)? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- George_Constanza · 2012-02-26 07:49 Hey guys, I know how to hide the parts, joins, quits, modes with mIRC, but I want to do something else. If anybody writes a message containing (let's say) "* -sn %fre", I want mIRC not to show it to me. How could I do that? Thanks guys. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mrw0rm · 2012-02-26 10:20 It's been too many years since I touched mIRC scripting, but there used to be something like "on INPUT" which would let you accomplish what you want (since on TEXT won't work). Try to look it up, it's all in mIRC's help files. All MTS themes (there used to be MTS theme addon and themes written by some guy as mIRC scripts) worked that way, you can probably find the answer there. Alternative way of doing that would be to hide original chat window and create a custom where you resend all input in original windows to custom one by excluding the stuff you don't want to be shown. I wouldn't count too much on this one. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2012-02-26 11:37 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- swifteh · 2012-03-04 21:22 on ^*:text:*-sn %fre*:#reddit:haltdef That's your simplest fix. I prefer using regular expression for things like this, but I wrote that from memory, and would have to look up regular expression syntax. If you want it, shoot me a message. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- George_Constanza · 2012-03-04 21:28 I've actually switched to xchat-wdk and found a script that allows to hide words (spamfilter). Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
