Looking for some suggestions or a bot? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ddraig · 2011-11-13 17:26 Howdy, I run an IRC channel on EFNet and we have a channel that is fairly active. We get links posted all the time to the channel I was wondering if there was a way, or anyone knew of a bot that would allow me to capture the URLs that get posted and post them to our subreddit we have for our channel? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ptera-work · 2011-11-14 08:15 I don't know of anything ready-made, but I would whip up a Tcl script for eggdrop in half an hour. Why don't you learn it? It's very easy :) Eggdrop will provide the IRC interface via bind/events, so you can deal with URL collection in a handful of lines. Then you can use sockets to talk to reddit. Material you will need: Eggdrop, Eggdrop's list of Tcl commands, Tcl's list of native commands. Sorry I can't look up the links for you right now but google will help you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ddraig · 2011-11-14 13:16 Thanks, one of our channel ops has a eggdrop bot that already captures URLs so just a case of "borrowing" his code and modifying it maybe. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2011-11-24 04:43 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2012-01-08 05:04 [deleted]
