Looking for a simple kick bot that reacts on strong language reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dAnjou · 2011-11-10 20:59 I'm op in ##deutsch (freenode) where we support people who learn German as a foreign language. Unfortunately there is some swearing and I don't have time to hang around all day in the channel and kick those people. So I'd like to have a bot which I can feed some trigger words to kick people. Even better would be to have a trigger list for single users. Do you know a bot which has an easy configuration? I had a look at eggdrop but it is kind of a monster. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2011-11-10 21:26 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anthaneezy · 2011-11-10 23:43 Supybot with the BadWords plugin. I'm in #bookz under Anthony-, ask me if you need help configuring it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Paradox · 2011-11-10 23:58 redditalien, who runs a lot of the reddit channels on freenode, can easily kickban people on foul language ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bobdle · 2011-11-11 03:35 eggdrop isn't a monster. if you set it up i can give you a simple tcl script that allows you to edit what words it filters. i use it in chans with 400+ people. never any issues & pretty customizable (simple tho) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2011-11-11 20:19 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- airencracken · 2011-11-11 20:27 How about not being so quick to censor people. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dAnjou · 2011-11-11 23:51 > Even better would be to have a trigger list for single users. I said that because actually there is just one person that is swearing a lot. But sometimes he is a big help ... very strange situation. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- airencracken · 2011-11-12 00:04 Who is it hurting? Words are words. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TheShadowFog · 2011-11-16 20:13 Maybe he has an IRC channel with young people on it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Tiktalik · 2011-11-18 07:47 but...but... irc is where not swearing is fucking **forbidden** ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2011-12-06 03:35 Have you considered talking to him--telling him how you feel and requesting that he not swear? That might be a better solution that custom-tailoring a bot. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dAnjou · 2011-12-06 10:04 Of course we did. But he kept doing it. But we decided to handle the issue without a bot although someone from the community here offered us some assistance along with his bot. We (the ops) agreed to just kick him the next time he does it and warn him ... and finally ban him if necessary. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack-is · 2012-04-18 18:20 If one of your ops uses irssi and is always connected, you could just have them use badwords.pl (or have irssi running in the background somewhere for that). http://scripts.irssi.org/
