Windows IRC Clients reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zweihander01 · 2011-05-20 04:41 I've been using a Mac for around 8 years now, and I'm switching back to Windows due to wanting to play games, not being impressed with OS X's future, and not having the extra money to blow on a comparable macbook. I've been using Linkinus (Discrete theme) for a while now and I'm pretty used to how it looks and acts. Is there anything similar on Windows? Things I'm looking for: * connected/remembered server list along the side, preferably in a sidebar ** channels nested under their respective server on the sidebar list * Ability to use a theme that isn't a ripoff of mIRC's default, or at least isn't as terrible as that one * Custom notify list (I do a lot of RPing on irc, so being able to always see my normal nick is useful) And I use Chrome, so Chatzilla isn't that useful. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aperson · 2011-05-20 06:49 [xchat-wdk](http://code.google.com/p/xchat-wdk/wiki/InfoXChat?tm=6) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Paradox · 2011-05-20 06:59 People are going to rage at this, but thats because most of them are just butthurt. mIRC is one of the most widely used IRC clients on windows, for a reason. It is one of the best clients available. You can customize the fuck out of it ---------------------------------------------------------------------- p1um_cr4zy · 2011-07-07 17:09 the truth ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tehciolo · 2011-07-11 22:10 NoName Script ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rottenbananapeel · 2011-08-30 08:59 I use [AdiIRC](http://www.adiirc.com/) , i switched from mIRC. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tenwithavo · 2011-09-05 15:48 Irssi ---------------------------------------------------------------------- benonsoftware · 2011-09-09 07:30 I would use PChat. (http://pchat-irc.com/) It is a free clone of XChat and I have been using it for about 2-3 years now and love it. You can download extra theme's like you want and you get a server/channel list on the side of what channels/servers you are on. Also they have 50+ servers already on there startup list to choose from. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- knuxgen · 2011-09-30 02:29 irssi as on any platform, but it§s terminal-based if you want some GUI, i loved Quassel, otherwise mIRC/xchat ---------------------------------------------------------------------- meleemario · 2011-10-28 01:52 Check out [KVIrc](http://www.kvirc.net/). It's a free IRC program which is extremely similar to mIRC, yet very customizable, sort of like the Firefox of IRC so to speak. Unlike mIRC, KVIrc is 100% free, with no nag screens whatsoever! The program itself does take a little getting used to though.
