I'm looking for an irc program that allows me to change each users
text to show up as a specific color for me. Are there any irc clients
that allow this? Do they work with Windows with little hassle?

I've been using NNScript since around 2005.  It's a pity that it has
been abandoned.  I still use mIRC v6.34, as I cannot use it without
NNScript.

Or get a shell on some server (anapnea, SDF, etc...) run irssi on
that. Then ssh in using putty.

irssi is super customizable, even if you don't particularly like
scripting.

In my opinion, it's by far the most beautiful.

I'm a console junky though.  I think nearly all console apps look
nicer than their clunky GUI counterparts.
