I was wondering what #Reddit's favorite irc scripts are. For mIrc,
Xchat, irssi, whatever.
I use irssi with only 2 scripts:

[NickList](http://scripts.irssi.org/scripts/nicklist.pl)

Though I am in the market for more. Post yours!

Making your own scripts is a great way to learn and IRC is a probably
the best place to share anything cool/useful you make. Have a go at
making some perl scripts for irssi or perhaps some python scripts for
Xchat, mIRC users can even start making stuff using MSL although mIRC
gets alot of hate.

I'd agree. Its also a good and fun way to learn programming,
especially if you already like IRC. One of the things I feel keeps a
lot of people from learning how to program is that they don't find any
satisfaction in it soon enough. Scripting for something you already
use can be a good way to get into it.

[screen_away.pl](http://scripts.irssi.org/scripts/screen_away.pl) and
[autowhois_simple.pl](http://scripts.irssi.org/scripts/autowhois_simpl
e.pl) are quite essential for me in irssi.

Also, if you're a iPhone user, you can use
[prowl](http://www.prowlapp.com/) and
[prowlnotify.pl](https://github.com/QuaqSim/irssi-prowlnotify) for
getting privmsg's and highlights to phone when you are away.

If I had to keep only three scripts, it would be
[cron.pl](http://scripts.irssi.org/html/cron.pl.html),
[trigger.pl](http://scripts.irssi.org/html/trigger.pl.html) and
[dau.pl](http://dau.pl/). Oh and
[hilightwin.pl](http://scripts.irssi.org/html/hilightwin.pl.html).
