Issues with poudriere after upgrade? reddit / freebsd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CoryCA · 2022-09-09 19:34 I recently updated my TrueNAS box to v13 so now it's underlying FreeBSD is now *13.1-RELEASE-p1*. Then I updated my poudriere jail with *"iocage upgrade poudriere -r 13.1-RELEASE"* since the TrueNAS GUI wouldn't update the jail because of the new ABI, which put that jail to *13.1-RELEASE-p2*. Then I did pkg update & upgrade in the jail to get all installed packages upgraded Running *"poudriere options -j 13-1-amd64 -p head -f list-13-1-amd64"* now throws errors like his for each port in the list file: make: stopped in /usr/local/poudriere/ports/head/dns/powerdns ===> Setting user-specified options for powerdns-recursor-4.7.2 and dependencies ===> Setting user-specified options for vim-9.0.0379 and dependencies /usr/local/poudriere/ports/head/Mk/Scripts/depends-list.sh: 2: parameter not set *** Error code 2 What is causing this and how do I fix it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anopheli · 2022-09-09 20:30 Usually: Your configurations for those ports are out of date. They have either added or removed configuration options, or your configuration files are otherwise not valid. The configs will typically be under /usr/local/etc/poudriere.d/ in a folder with the name of the jail that Poudriere builds in. Easiest way to fix it is to wipe the configurations for the offending ports and then run ‘Poudriere options’ on your port list. This will write new configs that are valid for the current port version. Also make sure you are using a correct and up to date ports tree. This is usually not a problem, but you are doing this on a jail hosted on TrueNAS, which can have its own package and port trees by default. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ohmantics · 2022-09-11 20:17 You’ll likely also run into errors with perl5.32 because the TrueNAS kernel build doesn’t have the latest patches for CTF, so you’ll need to build perl with DTrace disabled. Why the TrueNAS folks insist on riding the trailing edge of FreeBSD, I’ll never understand. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CoryCA · 2022-09-12 17:02 > Your configurations for those ports are out of date. > Also make sure you are using a correct and up to date ports tree. I started with a completely new ports tree and no *-options/ directory, just the list of ports to build and the *-make.conf file for the make options like WITHOUT_X11, DEFAULT_VERSION, and so on. Thus, no ports options to be out of date, but the problem is still there. > a jail hosted on TrueNAS, which can have its own package and port trees by default. TrueNAS doesn't have a ports tree installed, and even if it did I wouldn't expect that to affect what is inside the jail as the only shared stuff is the kernel, not the userland binaries or any extra installed programmes. The jail would not know about any extra installed packages or anything like that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anopheli · 2022-09-12 20:06 Completely stumped then. Only time I’ve gotten that sort of error is related to bad config options. Try the FreeBSD forums - there’s a LOT more Poudriere expertise over there. I suspect it’s something TrueNAS related, but damned if I know what. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- grahamperrin · 2022-09-14 01:00 > FreeBSD forums NB [GhostBSD, pfSense, TrueNAS, and all other FreeBSD Derivatives | The FreeBSD Forums](https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/ghostbsd- pfsense-truenas-and-all-other-freebsd-derivatives.7290/) /u/CoryCA if you do post there, please link from there to here and vice versa.
