Hi freebsd fellas. I’m freebsd newb and I did a freebsd install under virtual box. The detail is about synaptic horizontal scroll is making me mad. I read some doctos but looks like those are deprecated. My issue: freebsd 12+ XFCE+ virtual box tools under virtual box. Any ideas? Thanks in advance reddit / freebsd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lenzo1337 · 2022-07-18 02:44 I'm not sure, but I think that you're asking about scrolling on a laptop's trackpad? You can look into the FreeBSD forms and Documentation and there should be information on what kernel modules need to be loaded. I think you probably want to checkout **moused** and the **sysctl** output. kldstat and sysctl hw.psm should be helpful. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hejimenez · 2022-07-18 13:09 Thanks for your reply. I will check it! 🤗 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- grahamperrin · 2022-07-19 17:16 > … synaptic horizontal scroll is making me mad … What's it doing, exactly? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hejimenez · 2022-07-19 21:12 It is the same for me 😢 i will check and try to come back with some news ---------------------------------------------------------------------- grahamperrin · 2022-07-20 05:23 > It is the same for me The same as what? (I don't have a problem; I quoted your words.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hejimenez · 2022-07-20 17:59 Oups!! My mistake. When am using the browser an then i scroll down it go back to previous page instead 😤 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- _ReDave_ · 2022-07-20 19:53 Synaptics touchpads are sometimes completely improperly configured under X. Linux, BSD, everything that uses Xorg has a chance to work really really horribly out of the box. If you want to fix the issue, you must use the xf86-input-synaptics package, which then can be configured in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf if I recall correctly. You can specify a bunch of things in said file, so I'd recommend that you look into it. It's possible that you'll find the solution to your problem. (I haven't done this in a while -- but I hope I got the details right) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hejimenez · 2022-07-21 02:26 Really appreciate your advise!! I will dot it 😊😊😊
