Experimenting a little bit with fusefs-smbnetfs : Episode 2 : various
errors while trying to show the content of the shared disk on thunar
and caja

Hello.

I'm trying to configure correctly fusefs-smbnetfs because I want to
show on FreeBSD the content of a drive shared inside a Windows 11 VM.
So,this is the commands that I have issued after reading the
instructions :

    # pkg install sysutils/fusefs-smbnetfs

    Updating FreeBSD repository catalogue...
    FreeBSD repository is up to date.
    All repositories are up to date.
    Checking integrity... done (0 conflicting)
    The following 1 package(s) will be affected (of 0 checked):

            fusefs-smbnetfs: 0.6.1_4

    # sysctl vfs.usermount=1
    # mkdir ~/.smb
    # cp /usr/local/etc/smb4.conf
/usr/local/share/doc/smbnetfs-0.6.1/smbnetfs.conf ~/.smb/

    # nano /root/.smb/smbnetfs.conf :

    auth "marietto" "pass"

    # nano /root/.smb/smb4.conf

    [global]
    security=domain

    # chmod 600 /root/.smb/smbnetfs.conf
    # mkdir /mnt/smbnetfs
    # smbnetfs /mnt/smbnetfs
    # ls /mnt/smbnetfs

    At first glance it worked :

    # ls /mnt/smbnetfs/192.168.1.5
    C       G       H       Users

After some time I've encountered 3 problems :

1. do u know how to give also the write permissions to the windows
shared disks ?

​

    # ls /mnt/smbnetfs/192.168.1.5
    C       G       H       Users  /mnt/smbnetfs/192.168.1.5/H

    # cd /mnt/smbnetfs/192.168.1.5/H
    rm -r found.000 rm: found.000: Permission denied

2) after sometime of good working, caja stopped showing the content of
the shared drives,giving this error :

**Caja-Share-Message: Called "net usershare info" but it failed: 'net
usershare' returned error 255: net usershare: usershares are currently
disabled.  but I still continue to see the content of the disks using
the terminal.**

\[while,thunar does not work at all,it is unable to show the content
of the shared drives\]

3)  After some further amount if time,this error appeared :

​

    # ls /mnt/smbnetfs/G
    ls: /mnt/smbnetfs/G: Input/output error

the same error happens with drive C and H.
