iocage without lib32 and src? reddit / freebsd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- urhovaldeko · 2022-04-19 08:41 Trying out iocage for a while now and I don't need src nor lib32 in my jail template. I can't find a way to tell iocage that I don't want them (OS itself has only world and kernel)? Not sure if I should just manually remove them [as per this old post in the forums](https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/remove-components-post- installation.1136/). Any better ideas? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gojirabsd · 2022-04-19 09:16 I don't use iocage, but does the --files switch work? Otherwise try to modify the python script. :) Is iocace still maintained? Last release is from 09/2019. Maybe try bastille? There is: bastille\_bootstrap\_archives="base lib32 ports src test" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- urhovaldeko · 2022-04-19 09:44 It looked newer than ezjail :) But seems that it's hardcoded or something. root@freya:~ # iocage fetch --file /root/test-base --release 13.0-RELEASE --name 13tmp -d /root/test Copying: MANIFEST... Copying: base.txz... Extracting: base.txz... lib32.txz.txz is a required file! Please place it in /root/test/13.0-RELEASE As my release upgrade failed as well I'll look into bastille then. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- urhovaldeko · 2022-04-19 09:56 Bastille seems to do everything I wanted mostly out of the box, nice. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sko- · 2022-04-19 10:56 Just use iocell - it's the original, shell-based version that 'just works'™ and doesn't drag in python dependencies... For a modified base template you can use templates or you can just use 'iocell fetch ftpfiles="base.txz doc.txz"" to exclude lib32 and src from the release that is fetched. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- urhovaldeko · 2022-04-19 11:44 There's no doc.txz anymore so even the simple iocell fetch fails :) But I get your point, no need to overcomplicate things. Considering my needs I might even go without any tool. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- edthesmokebeard · 2022-04-19 14:57 wow, a leading 'just', a mid-post 'just', and a closing ellipsis. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lazy-xo · 2022-05-25 09:37 Agreed - and for the same reasons - shell based and nothing trashing up my system with python. I ran through using iocage and someone tell me what it gives iocell doesn’t I’ll reconsider but then again it used to be just us and jail.conf and survived that
