Trying to stream my ugly face with obs-studio capturing the video stream with webcamd and my usb camera, but I get the error : NDI Runtime not found. reddit / freebsd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- loziomario · 2022-01-14 16:11 Hello to everyone. I'm trying to stream my ugly face with obs-studio capturing the video stream with webcamd and my usb cameras. The first one is "Webcam Plus (CT6840)" ; the second model I tried is "LifeCam VX-5000" Actually I've tried two cameras, but none on them has been recognized by obs. The error is : **NDI Runtime not found. Please install libndi on your system. You can find a copy of libndi for Linux on obs-ndi's GitHub page.** ok,I'm on FreeBSD so I've installed the libndi package from ports like this : u/marietto:/usr/home/marietto # pkg search libndi libndi-g20200630               Cross-platform, open-source library done to interact with NDI streams u/marietto:/usr/home/marietto # pkg install libndi Updating FreeBSD repository catalogue... FreeBSD repository is up to date. All repositories are up to date. Updating database digests format: 100% Checking integrity... done (0 conflicting) The most recent versions of packages are already installed but as u can see below,it didn't work. I don't understand if obs- studio does not recognizes the webcams despite the error or because my webcams are not compatible and they will be not recognized even if I will fix the error. https://preview.redd.it/rctj3jdafob81.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=w ebp&s=f6e69ed6d570dc2b3d50c94380003aa4e3b866d5 https://preview.redd.it/feuh9hdafob81.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=w ebp&s=9ab3923e645e97b03189af0f07ab4430d3545f19 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CaponeFroyo · 2022-01-14 17:43 I don’t know how to fix your problem, but you really should try to not call yourself ugly. It’s bad for your mental well-being. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- loziomario · 2022-01-14 18:18 I'm self ironic :P ; Anyway I'm aware that there are faces out there prettier than mine. as I'm just as sure there are personalities worst than mine. Coming back to this problem : it seems that this bug is not present when @robonuggie created this tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmkptnuSS1c&ab_channel=RoboNuggie ; I'm not sure if the model of webcam that he used is the key or not. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- timvandijknl · 2022-01-14 18:52 NDI has nothing to do with webcams. NDI is a network interface for streaming the display capture of one computer to another computer. A software-alternative for a capturecard so to speak. Since OBS is a port of a linux app, you might have to make some symlinks for the NDI library for it to work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- loziomario · 2022-01-14 19:14 it seems there is a bug that I'm not able to fix. you can give a look here : https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show\_bug.cgi?id=258694 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cjd166 · 2022-01-14 20:16 OK anyone who could look into this as far as you want will want to know about your system (arch, lib32?, last portsnap, etc.) Or you could install the compatible obs-ndi from ports and see if that works. Edit: Also check their permissions of your xdg_runtime path as the console is showing it cannot be selected. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- loziomario · 2022-01-14 20:35 can u write all the commands that I should issue ? thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cjd166 · 2022-01-14 21:19 I can write the ones I would try... You should be able to get around this error message. please post the output of your make install commands after running #portsnap fetch update. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- loziomario · 2022-01-14 22:16 He reported the issue to OBS Studio: https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/issues/5797 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cjd166 · 2022-01-14 22:31 nan fps framerate for v4l2-input might be the cause of the timeout value being messed up. If the obs devs cannot recreate the error you will be in the same spot, with no help. Hope you get it sorted.
