rhythmbox without gnome? reddit / freebsd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- csgraves · 2022-01-13 15:17 Good morning! I am currently running 0.7.0 of helloSystem, and I am finding myself in need of rhythmbox. No other music player is as simple and intuitive as rhythmbox for me, I would just prefer to not have to get all of Gnome with it, as helloSystem is exactly what I need for a desktop system. Any pointers? I don’t need to sync, I don’t want a music database and I am certainly not interested in anything other than playing music, ripping cds, and maybe listening to a podcast. For my needs, then, rhythmbox fits the bill. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vermaden · 2022-01-13 15:37 Try **deadbeef** player. But if you need **rhythmbox** then just install it like that: # pkg install rhythmbox It does not matter how many dependencies it would install - they are only file on the disk, nothing more. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- csgraves · 2022-01-13 15:48 Thank you. By the way, what do you think of helloSystem? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- petronasAMG77 · 2022-01-13 16:52 >Try deadbeef player. +1 for deadbeef ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vermaden · 2022-01-13 23:40 Its a decent FreeBSD 'variation'. Definitely better then what PC-BSD was.
