NGINX monitor for FreeBSD reddit / freebsd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- martintoy · 2022-01-09 19:19 Hello there, I am moving some services to FreeBSD. Seems like nginx-amplify is not ready for FreeBSD or it needs some tweaks to install. Are there other third party monitor that plays well with NGINX and FreeBSD? thanks in advance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dlangille · 2022-01-09 20:27 I use `LibreNMS` for metrics, as seen [in this tweet](https://twitter.com/DLangille/status/1378302267921686532). I know nothing about `nginx-amplify`, what is you want to monitor? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- da_peda · 2022-01-09 20:30 Apparently a premium monitoring by nginx themselves: https://www.nginx.com/products/nginx-amplify/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- da_peda · 2022-01-09 20:31 We're using Prometheus plus Grafana and the apropriate exporters. Has the benefit that you don't need a different monitoring for another software. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dlangille · 2022-01-09 20:38 Thanks. It seems difficult to get example graphs. I tried. I gave up after 30s. If you have a project, don't be shy about sharing what it does. Don't make me sign up just to find out what it can do for me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- martintoy · 2022-01-09 21:51 Thanks for your answer! I follow your answers and videos on YouTube which cleared me the way with jails and zfs. Which lead me to this. Amplify is a free (for 5 hosts) monitor for nginx. It has install script for debian Ubuntu CentOS redhat. And an experimental for freebsd. I'm moving some of my webservers to jails. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dlangille · 2022-01-09 21:52 I'm glad they helped. Hopefully, the experiment leads to something. Jails for webservers are great. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wettoast55 · 2022-01-09 22:41 Netdata is great, Prometheus/Grafana will do it too. https://www.netdata.cloud/nginx-monitoring/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CoolTheCold · 2022-01-10 13:47 That's a bit ironic - Nginx was created with FreeBSD in mind, by persons who preferred FreeBSD over Linux (i've talked with them) and now one of the products of Nginx family has "experimental for freebsd" support. That's deep.
