Directory synch with Google Drive - Any experience? reddit / freebsd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- maninspired · 2021-03-22 22:07 Hello all. I'm looking to synch select directories with Google Drive. Simply stated, it would operate just like the "backup and sync" app does on a windows machine. Any key guidance or experience, positive or negative, would be helpful. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rogerairgood · 2021-03-22 22:15 rclone is perfect for this. Take a look at the documentation and then pkg install rclone ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fortescue · 2021-03-22 22:17 I use rclone for this. Works great! I have it regularly sync via a cron one one machine. On the other I have it mounted read-only for accessing it. You could also consider using something like duplicati and similar tools, if you’re wanting it purely for backup purposes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lbmdk · 2021-03-23 08:36 As already stated, rclone. Take a look at the "sync" option, is what you most likely is looking for. There are other parameters as well, which find very useful as well, which are usefull. E.g. --exclude, --min-age, --max-age, --log-file ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lkowolowski · 2021-03-23 14:52 I’m using syncthing. Can run as read/write or read-only (only accepts changes, doesn’t propagate changes). Can have lots of endpoints. I haven’t gotten crazy with it, but around 40G and a number of git repos in various directories and it works well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- throwaway30116 · 2021-07-29 10:29 Have you tried combining it with rclone to access gdrive? ATM I don't see how syncthing works with gdrive.
