Try “pkg search xfce” and see if it gives you a more complete name to try. Possibly “xfce4”? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NotGenericJosukeName · 2021-03-22 22:37 https://imgur.com/5zMwjqU this are the things that show with the search command ---------------------------------------------------------------------- michaelfatbender · 2021-03-23 01:03 It's possible binary packages aren't built for arm64. You may have to build it from ports...which would take a long time on a raspberry pi. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lufthansen · 2021-03-23 05:28 Here you can find some more details and also how to try via ports https://www.freshports.org/x11-wm/xfce4/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rykolepl · 2021-03-23 10:58 So it appears that there are no xfce4 binary ports for arm64. See how Ron has added a nice table with all the different architectures on Freshports. Now look at aarch64. It shows Xfce version 4.16 ONLY ON LATEST BRANCH. So switch your /etc/pkg/FreeBSD.conf to latest from quarterly and enjoy the ride. pkg install xfce4 should work with latest branch and be much quicker than compiling from ports (days quicker). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2021-03-23 19:37 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NotGenericJosukeName · 2021-03-23 19:40 I just change that and this is what i got https://imgur.com/nwNPUpc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- scoobybejesus · 2021-03-23 23:11 The instructions in the parent link say the package name is just xfce, not xfce4. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NotGenericJosukeName · 2021-03-25 05:15 i got this from xfce search https://imgur.com/CXvZGSF ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NotGenericJosukeName · 2021-03-25 05:54 cd /usr/ports/x11-wm/xfce4/ && make install clean is this the command that i should run? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- michaelfatbender · 2021-03-25 12:02 That looks right to me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NotGenericJosukeName · 2021-03-25 14:50 after a lot of time the process throw me an error and it cancel itself. i guess im just going to use it without a DE ---------------------------------------------------------------------- scoobybejesus · 2021-03-25 15:22 Now that you are on the 'latest' branch, have you tried \`pkg install xfce\`?
