Bug where menus will not open (Chromium, VS Code) reddit / freebsd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- complex · 2021-01-21 03:07 I have a bone stock 12.2-RELEASE installation. In Chromium and VS Code I have a weird bug: menus (File, Edit, or the "three dots") will sometimes not open. On first open of an application, sometimes the menus will open, but after using the app for short time (a few seconds) they will stop opening. My applications are installed via pkg, but the same occurs if installed via ports. It happens on real hardware and in a VMware Fusion VM. Xorg is installed with pkg as well. I have a short video of the bug: http://split.org/storage/freebsd- menu-bug.mov Anyone seen something like this before? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- grahamperrin · 2021-01-21 03:55 Reproducible with Chromium in twm on FreeBSD 12.2-RELEASE-p1 GENERIC. ### Upstream [#856573 - twm: pulldown menus in chromium don't work on amd64 - Debian Bug report logs](https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=856573) has an *upstream* tag with reference to: * Chromium issue [388924: REGRESSION: Chrome is unusable with focus- follows- mouse](https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=388924) ### Workarounds As suggested under https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=388924#c13 Try an alternative window manager.
