USB Keyboard is Terribly Laggy

I have a Ryzen 3960x Threadripper with ton of RAM and a new NVIDIA
graphics card.

However, upon anything resembling a tiny load on the CPU, I get lag on
my keyboard and typing. I just can't fathom how
this is possible. I have to assume it is directly due to resource
allocation by the system.

Any ideas on what to do here? I'm thinking maybe using niceness to
bump the process which manages the USB keyboard? But I have no idea
which process that is, or if it will even fix the problem.

Ideas?

Wireless thing? Comparing the situation to wired one would rule out
things.
