Wikiman - terminal-based interactive offline search engine for manual pages, Arch Wiki, Gentoo Wiki, and other documentation reddit / freebsd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 7orglu8 · 2020-09-02 17:28 Wikiman can also search in FreeBSD documentation, see the README, and this is awesome. Thanks to u/filiparag for thinking FreeBSD users. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- filiparag · 2020-09-02 17:36 Thank you /u/7orglu8 for sharing my project with FreeBSD reddit community! I think that having easy access to all documentation, regardless of operating system you are using should be expected. Most of FreeBSD users have headless servers which do not have graphical interface, so having a search engine right in your terminal should make system administration a tad easier. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- filiparag · 2020-09-02 17:38 Well, I still haven't had time to make the Makefile FreeBSD compatible. If you want, edit it and issue a pull request. It would be a great help. Edit: Starting from version 2.10, FreeBSD is fully supported. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Obsessive-_- · 2020-09-02 21:36 That looks very useful! can the sources be retrieved remotely once for setting up? so far I see it expects local directory to exist and would love to have it easily on USB or sorts ---------------------------------------------------------------------- filiparag · 2020-09-02 22:01 You can download additional source databases by following [this](https://github.com/filiparag/wikiman#installing-additional- sources) or downloading compressed version from [Releases](https://github.com/filiparag/wikiman/releases) tab.
