Redshift, KDE Night Mode, Gnome Night colors not working on FreeBSD 12.1 reddit / freebsd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- koriel3 ยท 2020-08-19 10:29 I've installed FreeBSD 12.1 on desktop; setting the KDE night mode doesn't do anything; Gnome night mode also does not; and Redshift just throws an error about not being able to connect to the Wayland display. The KDE Wayland & Gnome Wayland WMs just die and return to login screen when I try them. From what I understand, the x11/xorg package moved to Wayland by default a couple years ago. Is this just my setup? and is there any way to use a redshift-like capability in the current default packages? I'd prefer to use dwm as my wm w/ redshift, but current xorg seems to be broken for me w/ all red shifting. If all else fails, would it be possible to use x11 from ports w/ wayland disabled? I'm not sure of the command to do that with portmaster, but saw discussions about \`--disable-xwayland\`. Thanks!
