Fetch mail error code reddit / freebsd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wagonaway7 · 2020-07-22 16:31 Fetch mail error code of 5 saying no mailservers were specified. I have postfix and dovecot installed and setup and running. I have the fetchmailrc file owned by the user and in that directory. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FUZxxl · 2020-07-22 17:23 Is this supposed to be a question? If yes, what is your question? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wagonaway7 · 2020-07-22 17:56 Do you know why? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FUZxxl · 2020-07-22 18:06 Nope. And as my crystalball is broken, I am unfortunately unable to divine your configuration. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dlangille · 2020-07-22 18:21 In sufficient information to determine what went wrong. What exactly is the change you made? Did you add this line? If you want help, it's usually a good idea to provide detailed information about your situation. You gave almost no information at all, making it very annoying to debug your issue. You didn't even ask a proper question for crying out loud! I'm not interested in helping you if you aren't even willing to give a detailed description of the exact steps you took and your exact situation. Unless you do so, I'll refrain from helping you any further. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wagonaway7 · 2020-07-22 19:45 Thanks for the advice. I will make sure I follow it in the future. i didn't mean to be unclear about the problem. I'm just confused about this and didn't know how else to express that. Basically I just followed the instructions in the handbook. the only change I made myself other than setting it up was the line for polling the email address since the fetchmailconf command seemed to change this. After I adjust it properly and start configuration I am returned with a fetchmail error code of 8. Its also running in the background with postfix and dovecot and the right user owns the .fetchmailrc file.
