[org-roam] Is there an ultimate way to have a record of node updates (with date indications) rather than git? reddit / emacs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mahdi_Amel · 2022-12-02 15:27 Or any recommended workflow to use git for this purpose? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mahmooz · 2022-12-02 15:49 https://github.com/tefkah/org-roam-timestamps ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mahdi_Amel · 2022-12-02 15:57 I guess this one only provides creation and modification indicators; I need a full record of the node ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thriveth · 2022-12-02 17:46 It has a setting to record all modification times. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mahdi_Amel · 2022-12-02 17:48 Thanks I will give it a shot ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Cletip · 2022-12-03 01:49 Just to know better your "problem" : why do you want to do that ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MaximRegret · 2022-12-03 05:06 I use [git-auto-commit-mode](https://github.com/ryuslash/git-auto- commit-mode). Just install the package and then enable it whenever you visit a file in Org-Roam: `(add-hook 'org-roam-find-file-hook #'git-auto-commit-mode)` Then just initialize your notes directory as a git repository, and every time you save a file it'll create a new commit. For more details, look at the documentation of that package. You can also configure it to automatically push to a remote repository (`gac- automatically-push`) or prompt for a commit message (`gac-ask-for- summary-p`). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mahdi_Amel · 2022-12-03 14:08 I just want to have a full record of some nodes, and I think I can not classify them as journals ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mahdi_Amel · 2022-12-03 14:15 Thank you very much, this is exactly what I was looking for.
