Emojis are not rendering, even with emojify reddit / emacs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- keroeslux · 2022-10-23 14:44 I just reinstalled archlinux on to this device, so I had to reinstall emacs as well. When I got my config up and running, I made sure that emojify downloaded the emojis, but emacs still wont render them. I'll attach a photo of what it looks like, plus my emojify conf https://preview.redd.it/425qgav5ikv91.png?width=985&format=png&auto=we bp&s=9b1dfa8038028dfedbd5ada4dd3b8a8d3e8533e1 https://preview.redd.it/vugi7zoaikv91.png?width=390&format=png&auto=we bp&s=c6309003467e4545d6a51d9b56f84f5fd287a29d If anyone knows how to fix this, I'm completely stumped ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ireallywantfreedom · 2022-10-23 15:33 Do you have a font installed for emoji's? If you install `noto-fonts- emoji` and restart emacs, does the problem persist? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Embern · 2022-10-23 19:16 this font problem is cursed to be posted on every linux, macos, vim, emacs forum ever created at least once a day. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- keroeslux · 2022-10-23 19:40 Unfortunately it does persist ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ivotade · 2022-10-23 19:49 These are reserved for private use characters. Each font will draw differently. Are you sure that you have a font installed that can render them?
