(spacemacs) package evil-escape is unavailable. Is the package misspelled? (It's not in melpa) reddit / emacs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Impossible_Map_2355 · 2022-10-10 18:01 Hey, I'm using Emacs 28.2 on windows and Emacs 28.1 on Mac. Same issue on both. Spacemacs wants to install evil-escape, but it does not seem to exist. [https://github.com/syl20bnr/evil- escape](https://github.com/syl20bnr/evil-escape) (Claims the package exists in Melpa) [https://melpa.org/#/?q=esca](https://melpa.org/#/?q=esca) (this query shows evil-escape does NOT exist in Melpa) [https://melpa.org/#/?q=evil](https://melpa.org/#/?q=evil) (this query also fails to find evil-escape) So... what da heck? I hate to do this improperly but do I need to manually download evil-escape from github (first link) and stick it in the .emacs.d folder myself? Or is Melpa broken? Or spacemacs? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lebensterben · 2022-10-10 18:34 sounds like a real issue... this package hasn't been updated for four years (though it's still working) I've no idea why melpa doesn't offer it suddenly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Impossible_Map_2355 · 2022-10-10 18:45 I guess the proper thing to do is open an issue on spacemacs? But this seems like a Melpa thing too ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lebensterben · 2022-10-10 18:59 yep. it should be reported to both of them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tarsius_ · 2022-10-10 23:05 It's back at https://melpa.org/#/evil-escape. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Impossible_Map_2355 · 2022-10-10 23:57 Thank you!
