Org ellipses wrong color? Advice? reddit / emacs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HARITHKAUSHIK16 · 2022-09-23 15:04 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HARITHKAUSHIK16 · 2022-09-23 15:06 Hello kind people reading this post! I'm working on my own theme and it seems that the org-ellipses faces are the wrong colour. I have explicitly set the face in the theme to a purple but it shows up as this ochre gold. Any one have any idea why this is happening? EDIT: FIXED! Turns out it was org ellipsis and not ellipses. Go figure. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AngryFilament · 2022-09-23 20:24 Would recommend posting the bits of code where you set the colors ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hagerty9009 · 2022-09-23 20:40 Place your cursor on one of the ellipses and run `M-x describe-face`. The first option (should) be the face under the cursor. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HARITHKAUSHIK16 · 2022-09-24 02:34 describe-face is a very finicky function imo. In this case putting point under the ellipsis and executing describe-face returns \`default\`, which is clearly wrong. Running \`M-x list-faces-display\` shows org-ellipses to be this gold color, so I'm pretty sure it's the right face. Thanks for the reply! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HARITHKAUSHIK16 · 2022-09-24 02:37 its wrapped with autothemer so the syntax doesn't follow the regular set-face-attribute syntax, but `(org-ellipses (:foreground purple))` You can find the full theme code at [https://www.github.com/Harith163/TransSide- theme](https://www.github.com/Harith163/TransSide-theme). Thanks for the reply! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AngryFilament · 2022-09-24 03:33 I did a bit of digging but I too couldn't figure out what's going on here ---------------------------------------------------------------------- betei- · 2022-09-24 06:26 Try org-ellipsis instead of org-ellipses. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HARITHKAUSHIK16 · 2022-09-24 11:52 That was it! I guess the singular makes more sense since it is one ellipsis.
